Option 1: Artist provides us with a stereo wav/aif of each song to be mastered. This is a more traditional concept of mastering. Your full final mix is processed.
Option 2: Artist provides us with "stems" for each song to be mastered. A stem is a stereo wav/aif export of a group of individual but sonically related tracks. For example, one stem for vocals, one stem for bases, one stem for leads, etc.. Providing multiple stems means more flexability in how your song is processed and involves much more granularity. Option 2 gives a mastering engineer the capability to process sound while minimizing any impact on other sounds during mastering. Lets say that adding low end to the overall mix while mastering brings out some undesired frequencies in the vocals. By providing stems we would be able to add that low end while leaving the vocals untouched.
Prices
Option 1: $10 USD per song
Example: a 5 song EP mastered using option 1 would be $50 USD
Option 2: $25 USD per song
Example: a 10 song full-length CD mastered using option 2 would be $250 USD
For an additional fee, multiple mastered versions can be provided with different emphasis based on their application. (such as Radio vs. Club play). Contact us for price information around your specific requirements.
